Mai brushed her hair behind her ear, avoiding eye contact with Kawa. I can't believe this. This is like... amazing! She actually likes me.... So that kiss earlier today... Was that real?

Their lips met. Mai couldn't help but feel the electricity run through her. She could feel this wasn't just acting.

Mai's thoughts were interrupted. She heard a gasp from her doorway. She jumped back falling off her seat. "Mai!" her mother sounded shocked, scared, and angry. -
"AIYE!" Kawa squeeled, her chair falling back with Kawa still on it.

Mai's eyes widened. "Mom... I..." she didn't know what to say.

"H-hi Mai's mom." Kawa squeeked, still in sitting position on the turned chair.

"Mai," her mother said. "Can I speak to you for a moment?" Mai got up and walked into the hall.

Kawa set the chair upright, and sat back down. Drawing her legs toward her body and resting her chin on her knees.
