WISH ON A DANDILION
There was a girl named Lizzie who wished she got whatever she wished for. Evrey night Lizzie wished on a shooting star whenever she saw one but it never worked. "Lizzie, you're a 13 year old girl, you know shooting stars never worked"her brother Hunter always said. One day,Lizzie was walking on a trail when she a saw a really cute boy. Lizzie saw him glance at her a couple of times. When Lizzie came across a dandilion, she picked it up and whispered quietly to herself "I wish that boy would ask me out" then Lizzie blew the dandilion. Then 15 seconds later a strong wind blew Lizzie's golden, curly hair behind her. When Lizzie got at the end of the trail, she saw the cute boy sitting at a bench. Then,he stood up and said "Hi,my name is Dillion. Will you go out with me?" There was a small pause then Lizzie said "Sure. By the way,my name is Lizzie" she smiled. My wish game true Lizzie thought.Dandilions work!
That night,Lizzie had dinner with Dillion and had a great boyfriend that turned out to live in her neighborhood. -
What did you guys think? I tried not to make it too romantic or cheesy.

The Tunnel
During The Russian Revolution, Nicholai Shmitz had been saving up money so that his daughter could study abroad.
He was sitting in his study after a long day of hard work, counting all the coins he had.
Just a bit more, he'd murmur in his sleep, just a bit more money and she can get out of here.
Of course, he had to be careful, because even by saying the word, "Famine" he could get arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
But all of them knew that they were only being fed lies, "Equality to all!" they'd say, killing the czar was the worst thing they'd ever done. But if you were smart enough and didn't complain over your soup, you just might get through.
One frosty cold morning, his wife, Odel Bauer, was cutting up the last of the moldy turnips and making it in to a tasteless stew... But they had to be thankful for every morsal they got, knowing that others weren't as lucky.
The knife she had used to cut up the vegetables was rusty and old, and she had to push down with all her might to get it to cut through, but today, she had gotten so fed up with it's uselessness that she flung it, and out the window it went, landing with a 'clang!' on to the snow covered pavement outside, she peered through the window, and couldn't find the knife, it was buried in the snow somewhere, but her temper had not yet ceased so she didn't care.
So when the inspector came round, he spotted the knife in the snow.
And Nicholai Shmitz, was charged with 25 years for, "Hiding weapons in a residintal area"
He felt his body turning to dust and his whole life's savings gone to nothing, like everything was just a waste.
When they had been in the carriage taking them across Russia, where the stars were the only light there, and the world was so cold that the chattering of the teeth was unstopable and the frostbite was unbearable.
There, deep underground was a mine, and the men were set to work.
The long days lingered so much it almost drove them all insane, but one day, a horrible catastrophe happened.
A man who had gone crazy from lack of food and too much work, had somehow freed himself of the chains around his ankles, and ran up and down the mine, the guards tried to catch him but he was too fast for them, until he came out of the tunnel, and screamed like an idiot.
And there was an avalanche, the snow from the highest peaks of the mountains rumbled down and blocked the mine.
People tried desperatly hard to get out, but they made little progress.
By the time the government workers: Soldiers, police and guards managed to get through, all the workers were dead, with only skeletons and worn out clothes remained of the trapped prisoners of the mine.
But the wierdest thing was, when the man had escaped, his chains lay broken in to bits dangling from a hole in the ground.
The hold lead to a tunnel so long down that even if you dropped a stone you wouldn't hear it fall, plus it would take ages to reach the bottom.
One guard was hauled down there by rope, it seemed an eternity of going down and down... when he reached the bottom, written in blood were the letters, "NS"
Nobody knew what it was, until many years later, they came to the conclusion that, "NS" were the initials of Nicholai Shmitz, but the N was on top of the S, so the N pointed North and the S pointed South, so Nicholai, if he escaped would keep going South, knowing that it led home.
But why did he dig a tunnel so deep?
And wasn't it a coincedence that his initials were the same as North and South?
The wierdest thing about this story, was that they went south, traipsing Nicholai's stps, and found him in the snow, his dead body frozen, with that rusty knife in his right hand, held over his chest.
On the same day that they found him, his wife dissapeared. -
Wow, I haven't written a short story for a long time...

Stand Still
Hannah Maxwell sprinted away, with tears in her eyes. She was only a 5 year old, she didn't mean to hurt her friend,it was an accident. She ran with all her might into the forest. Now,Hannah was alone. Or so she thought...
When Hannah least expected it, a young girl with curly, light brown hair emerged from the darkness. She looked about Hannah's age, or a few years older. 'Hello there.' the girl smiled. Hannah tossed her blond hair back and smiled at her. The other girl told her that her name was Guinevere. 'My name's Hannah' the 5 year old announced, and she explained what happened. Guinevere offered for her to come to her house, Hannah excepted.
'Here we are.' Guinevere announced. Hannah walked along the hallway, the house looked normal enough. The 5 year old noticed something stained into the cream carpet. Something red. Then, she heard a mysterious dripping sound. It was coming from the closet. As Hannah made her way to the closet, Guinevere called 'Hannah, don't open that!'. She ignored Guinevere's warning and opened the door. To Hannah's shock, a dead body slumped out of the closet! The body had lost both of her arms and her tounge.
Hannah shrieked as she saw Guinevere, standing behind her, with a meat cleaver in her right hand. 'My mother always had to clean up after me,and now she never has to clean up agian. I was just saving her.' Guinevere viciously cackled. She stepped closer to Hannah 'Now,I'm going to save you from your friend. Now, stand still.' -
Invisable chains held Hannah to the floor, she was paralyzed with fear. Guinevere was a deranged psychopath who was sick enough to kill her own mother, and Hannah knew she was next. All Hannah could do was stand still. 'You've been a really good friend, Hannah.' The brunette psycho smiled as she lifted her cleaver to her victim's throat. Guinevere wildly swung her weapon.
Hannah's parents waited anxiously for their daughter to get home. Hannah had been missing for 3 days. They'd called the police, but there was no luck in finding the innocent girl. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. 'I'll get it.' Mrs.Maxwell sighed. She rose to her feet and opened the door. A brown box stood at her feet, but it didn't say who it was from. Mrs.Maxwell picked the parcel up and took it inside. When she tore the paper away and removed the lid, Mrs.Maxwell screamed at what laid inside. It was Hannah's severed head, with both her eyes gouged out,her tounge missing and an X carved into her forehead. Next to the frightening gift, a note wrote on pure white paper laid. A message was wrote in capital letters, with words that almost stopped Mrs.Maxwell's heart. "STAND STILL!!!"...
THE END

Year One Of War - Part 1
Petrified screams woke me up from my light sleep. It had to be Fiona and another night terror. Then right on time I saw the hallway light go on and my mom walking into my little sister's room. This was a typical routine ever since the war started. You could hear the bombing in the distance, coming from the east near our state capitol. I was the opposite of my sister in the way that I just had eerie dreamless sleeps. If only dad was here, he'd probably know some lullaby that could calm us down or tell us a funny story about the old days. But he hasn't been here since they called him to fight for over a year.
"Midori," I heard my mother call my name from the room next door. Reluctantly I got up and slowly walked in. To my surprise there was this black substance smeared all along the window and my mom's worried expression. They were getting closer. "Mama," I managed to say after a second. "We need to leave. Take Fiona to the basement." She looked from the window back to me and followed my directions, taking my tear soaked sister away in her arms. I quickly closed and locked the bedroom door and went back into my bedroom. I found my window was covered completely in black as well. This could only mean that the blasts and carbon dust was coming from the battlefield into the residence areas. I grabbed the last picture we had as a family with dad, which I kept framed on my nightstand, and ran out, locked the door and ran downstairs to the basement.
In there my sister was sitting on the guest bed and my mom was making hot tea. I locked the doors and started working on sealing them. "Mido," my mom called at me, fear deep in her eyes. "Are you sure this is necessary?" I tried a weak smile but said, "It'll be ok mama, I know all the safety precautions." After sealing every crack with this white paste and covering them with the plastic covers I went and turned on the tv. A weird, loud beeping noise came on and a thin white line through the middle of the pitch black screen told us that the state was running the warning video. After a moment a newscaster-looking lady came on and started reading off the safety directions. "1) Do not go outside in a time of a chemical attack. Keep all doors and windows closed shut and apply the sealant. Remember to get underground or in the lowest area of the household."
"Ahhh...." I looked up and saw my sister at my side now and put my arm around to comfort her. She had Stevie in her arms, meaning her little teddy bear she always had when she was sad or upset. I remember when she got it too, when we were at the zoo in Nashville and dad saw that she really liked it and bought it for her. He also got me a penguin doll even though I said I had out grown stuffed animals. "It's ok Fi, we'll be fine." Sure, we might survive, but what about dad? And all those soldiers out there, breathing in toxic fumes. I had to shut that thought out of my mind to keep my cool and turned back to the tv.
"2) Try to remain calm and only take slow, needed breaths. Preserve oxygen as long as possible. When the air has become too thick with wasted air start putting on your oxygen mask and make sure the tank is leak free." The show then started going off into a demonstration on how to put on your mask and how to put them on children. Mom came over with the tea and poured us each a cup. Her hands we're shaking I noticed as she handed me a cup. "This will probably be a while," she spoke out loud random thoughts. Looking up at the shelf in the corner I spotted an old board game and started setting it up on the coffee table. "Then I guess we should do something distracting while we wait," I said and patted to the spot on the couch next to me for my sister to sit. "The best thing for us to do is keep calm."
About an hour later and no one was interested in the game. We watched our president make a speech to the enemy, saying everything we'd heard before. That if war was our only option then victory would be the only outcome for our side. That if they did not agree to back down we would not go easy on them. And then to all of the citizens of our country, may we stay strong and fight until we are the champions of the world. That every nation was under one rule and there would be eternal peace. The same things he always promised. But at what cost?
Suddenly the walls started shaking and pictures started falling down. Then there were loud pounds on the basement door, causing my sister to cry out and my mother to take us in her arms and pray. "Father, if this be our last night on earth please let my children go painlessly. And let us be saved by your will." My eyes were open, as they were whenever we prayed, and I noticed that the door was cracking open. I ran up and started shoving things in front of it, large boxes and the bookshelf. It kept it closed but there was still chance of it coming open so I tried sealing it better. "Midori!"my mother screamed. "Come back here right now young lady!" "Mama I can't!" I yelled back, which was something I never did. The room went silent except for the bombing outside and I did all my best to make sure the door was secure.
A moment after I finished the electricity went out. I went and got some candles from one of the boxes and lit them on the coffee table. "Mommy, I'm scared." I heard Fiona quietly cry. "I know honey, I'm sorry." she soothed and wiped my sister's pink forehead with a damp cloth of cool water. The battery powered digital clock was the only other light besides the candles and it flashed 3:24 AM. God, how much longer will this last? I sat back on the couch and laid my head on a pillow. My eyes stung from pollution in the limited air we had. "Should we put on the masks?" Mama asked monotonely. "Yes, I think the air's getting too hard to breathe," I replied and went and got the oxygen tanks and masks. I helped my sister put her's on and I did my own. We sat there and waited and waited and only heard the battle carry on, until it got even worse.
I could tell from the nearby loud destructive noise that our house was being torn apart. The basement upper walls started shaking even worse and I could tell that it would probably not withstand. I could tell my mom was silently praying to herself now and I wasn't sure what to do myself. My sister was petrified in a way she could not move at all. It sounded like a tornado was over our house now, but I knew that the damage could be much worse. Oh God, what if I'm really going to die right now? Please I do not want to die, I do not want to die, was all I kept thinking to myself.
The door started braking open until one large blast threw it off its hinges. I went over to my mom and she held my sister and I close and away from the door. I breathed very slowly because I knew the what was coming, the black dust. The whole room filled with this sticky substance and covered the white walls completely. Then the walls were crumbling over backward and exposed the world around us. The clouded sky was completely black and our neighborhood village was almost destroyed. I grabbed my family and led there to the bottom of the hill down to this small burrow. There we stayed as this harsh dark wind overcame the landscape. It all somehow made me drowsy so I had to fight to keep awake, but failed.
When I woke up the first I saw was a light gray sky and firefighters walking past me and to the village. I looked up and could not find my mother or my sister. One of the firefighters saw that I was barely moving on the ground covered in black and that I was coved in this black dust which blended in. "Hello, miss?" He said pushing me down a bit so that I didn't get up. "Stay calm, help is on the way." And he ran off where the other firefighters were. That was the day nothing was ever the same again.
It probably wasn't very good because I just came up with it tonight lol
