"Chester told me he killed his parents." Jayden said bluntly.

Oliver blinked. ‘Ah. Right. And you did what?’

"I-I kinda freaked out." Jayden mumbled, looking down. "And I went to my room for the night. He didn't show up to breakfast."

Oliver nodded. ‘Right. He probably thinks you hate him and that you’re going to leave him. But I get why you needed some time to think. Did he tell you the whole story?’

"He told me about how he put glitter on the chandelier, and it fell on them..."

Oliver nodded again. ‘And how do you feel about it?’

Jayden looked up. "I have no clue." He sighed, burying his face in his hands after a moment. "He wants me to trust him again, like this never happened."

Oliver sighed. ‘We were all scared of him after that, Jayden. Maeve and I watched it with our own eyes. The way his eyes went red as he watched it fall. Maeve thought it was intentional for a while. It was a horrible accident.’

Jayden looked up at him. "How did you guys trust him again?" He asked weakly.

‘Time. Lots of it. And we had to understand his side of the story. Just don’t give up on him, okay?’

Jayd listened, nodding slightly. "Okay." He mumbled.

Oliver nodded, watching him for a moment. ‘He’d never do anything to hurt you, y’know. On purpose, anyway.’

He'd never do anything to hurt his parents on purpose either, apparently. Jayden tried not to think that, but that's not exactly how thoughts work. "Yeah, I know." He mumbled.

Oliver gave a weak smile. ‘I don’t know how to help you otherwise, Jayden. Just give it time.’

Jayden nodded. He sighed, standing up. "I'll go talk to him. Thanks."
