Jayden went silent, looking down.

Chester’s face fell. He grabbed Jayden’s hand with both of his own, as if Jayden wouldn’t be able to leave if he did. ‘Please?’

Jayden pulled his hand away slowly, burying his head in his hands. "I'm sorry."

‘Please don’t leave,’ Chester said, voice wavering. ‘Please, I’ll do anything to make it up to you.’

Jayden didn't say anything. How do you make up being a murderer, and trying to hide it?

Chester stared at him for a moment, waiting for a response. He tried not to cry as he looked down.

Jayden stood up, staring at the ground. "I'm going to go get some fresh air." He mumbled before going to the door.

‘Oh. Okay. Have fun, love,’ Chester said weakly.

Jayd smiled weakly, leaving.
Lavender and Maeve were still in the dining room, giggling. Jayden decided to sit next to them again. -
Maeve and Lavender were snuggled up to each other. ‘Where’s Chester?’ Maeve asked.

"Wel- he's just in his room." Jayden mumbled, looking down.

‘Oh. Why?’

Jayden didn't want to ruin the mood. "I'll tell you later." He shrugged.
Lavender frowned slightly, figuring the 'later' meant when she wasn't there. "I can go..." -
‘No, it’s okay,’ Maeve said, grabbing her hand. ‘Chester’s probably just in a mood.’

Lavender's frown disappeared immediately. "Okay." She said happily.
