Chapter 1
Most hero stories don't start off with the main character in jail.
Most hero stories also don’t have me in them.
Kids, please don't make me your role model. Going to jail isn’t very fun, believe it or not. Mostly you just stare at a wall, trying not to go insane- which is very hard to prevent when you’re in a place like that.
Anyways, I was sitting in my cell, trying to tune out my annoying cell mate. You see, cell mates are like roommates, either your best friends, or they make your life a living hell, only unlike college, you’re stuck with them for however long you were sentenced, instead of just dropping out and adding another way your family can make fun of you over the holidays. It’s one of the reasons they say it’s so easy to go insane in prison. Unfortunately for me, I ended up paired with an absolute crackpot who goes by the name of Mayhem- yes, that is her legal name. Her parents either hated her, or she changed her name to that just to prove how nuts she was. Either way, she was crazy, always going on about the latest proof of an alien invasion or how demons and warlocks live among us, and how her neighbor was an alien sent to abduct and research more about the human species- y’know, the kind of stuff you think you like hearing people go on about until it’s the millionth time you’ve heard it in a single day.
I closed my eyes to try and tune out and assure myself that I wasn't going insane- which is always a possibility when you’re in jail with a cellmate like Mayhem- when something hit me on the head! Not hard enough to hurt me, mind you, but hard enough that I was upset. I opened my eyes, about to snap at whoever chucked it at me, when I saw a brick FLOATING above my head. -
.... I changed a lot of s--- in this story lol
Also Mayhem was supposed to be in the original story, I have like, 5 different versions of this story written on my notebook and my Creative Writing assignment (the one I put on here earlier) and only 2 of them don't have her in it lol. I removed her from the school one because I had no clue how to add her without making it so much longer and more painful for my teacher to grade lol -

Mayhem is my new favourite character idc that it's only like 3 paragraphs in -
