"You're not Darcy." He said, his voice sounding higher than it was probably supposed to, the layers of judgment, fear, and frustration showing in his tone. His voice had an strange accent. I couldn’t tell where it was from- which isn’t saying much, considering Relity isn’t exactly well known for its diversity- but it sounded soft, and like whatever his accent came from, their words were beautiful and delicate.
Anyways, he must’ve been a genius because I, in fact, am not Darcy.
Meanwhile, Mayhem was screaming gibberish about how she was right all along about Warlocks and aliens being out to get her and how now she was dead meat, and how this kid must be working for Cecelia, and she promptly ran away as fast as she could to, and I quote “not be attacked by the wizard boy and his alien friends”.
The boy just raised his eyebrows at the girl before she left and he eyed me, probably wondering why I didn’t do the same since there was a real-life warlock that broke into jail for seemingly no reason.
I nodded. "I'm certainly not Darcy. The name’s Jynx. Who are you, new rescuer?"
He didn't answer- rude! The guy broke a hole through my wall, he should at least have the decency to not ignore me! “Do you know where Darcy is?" He asked. The name didn't ring a bell, so I shook my head.
"Not even a little bit, sorry. But in case you didn’t know, we've only got like, 10 seconds before the guards stop chatting and realize you've broken me out." I didn’t know what the punishment would be for him- I mean, he was a warlock-he had to be, nobody else could make the bricks float like that- but he had just tried to break into the jail. Wouldn’t arresting him give him what he wanted? -
