"Is it fun? Pretending your better than us?" Lucero asked, glaring at Rikki as she refused our food for the bajillionth time in that 'leave me the f--- alone' tone she always used.
"What?" Rikki asked. For once the sarcasm was gone from her voice, replaced with confusion.
"Is it fun, having Lyric try so hard to welcome you and be your friend, only for you to act like an entitled brat and talk in 'this little voice'," He mimicked her sarcastic tone. "And make both of us feel like s--- just for trying to be nice?"
I looked up at Lucero. "Hey, relax." You see, the thing about Lucero is that when he gets mad, he gets MAD. He's been working hard to stop it from happening most of the time, which is why he seems so calm usually. He can't normally control himself when he gets into an explosive mood like this- which is the main reason he's tried so hard to prevent it entirely. I've figured this out through years of being his friend, but Rikki had no idea...
"No Lyric, I don't think I will. Your cousin has been a brat to the both of us, and I'm not just going to step back and let it happen." He turned his attention back to Rikki. "Is that why you refuse to talk to anyone? None of us are worth your goddamn time? Do you enjoy it, acting like everyone in the world is so below you that you can't bother to even say hello to them? Because here's a news flash, Rikki Wixx. You're not above us. Sorry, but you're just as horrible as the 8 billion other people you share oxygen with. Deal with it." Lucero stopped himself from saying more by taking a swig of his lemonade.
Rikki stared in silence, looking like she wanted nothing more than for Lucero to crawl into a grave before she grabbed her stuff, and her still full of food school lunch tray that I made her get because God knows she needs food, chucked the tray in the garbage, and walked out.
Me and Lucero didn't see her at school the rest of the day. -
I probably won't post anything else from this story because I'm writing it with a friend
Btw the reason Rikki isolates herself is because she has really, really dark thoughts that she'd end up in a hospital for (which she does lol) and she's keeping herself away from other people because she cares about them and she doesn't want to hurt them, but in Lucero and Lyric's mind, she's just being a brat and repeatedly refusing both of their offers just to hang out and be welcome into the friend group. Also, Lyric and Rikki are cousins lol -
Oh and also ik I made a story for Cameo and Lucero to be in together, but I honestly like this story better, so if I have to choose which one to put Lucero in, it'd be this one. I still really like the other story idea tho, so I might just change the characters a bit lol

ALSO Lucero does feel really bad not just for lashing out at her, but also realizing how s---ty her situation was and just kinda goes "Oh s--- I'm a really bad person for yelling at her-" and tries really hard to make sure she feels better after
ALSO Lucero and Lyric both have this tradition where Lucero buys them both lemonade (because he's addicted and they're healthier than the Coca Cola Lyric drank everyday before) and it's mildly important into the story for literally no reason (Thank you, Creative Writing teacher, for suggesting that we add lemonade and a funeral scene. You made the story SO MUCH BETTER somehow-) -

My Creative Writing teacher had us pull pieces of paper from a hat, and whatever was on the paper we had to make it a somewhat big deal in the story and I got a funeral and my friend got lemonade so like- -

Idk for sure if this is what I want just in case I haven't researched it properly, but I think I'll have Lucero have IED, which is why he blows up on Rikki. He's been to a mental hospital before because of that, so when he's called up by Lyric to take Rikki to the mental hospital (which happens later in the story because of her dark thoughts) he doesn't have to look up the address of it on his gps like he did for Rikki's address. I'd have to ask my friend if that's something they want to add tho lol -
Note to self: Lucero definitely has Intermittent Explosive Disorder, so find a way to write that without it seeming like he's just a really big a--hole lol
