Thread Topic: We need Moderators!

I agree. You may be a perfectly fine person, and for the most part you appear to be. But 2 (3?) days is by no means enough time to judge a person. The standard here is 1 year (I hear really cool people can get by with 6 months, but let's just say a year to have a solid standard).
-
Yeah I'm not so sure because as Appa said. ^
-
If this idea were to be implemented, I think it would be best if the moderators had separate account from which to perform their duties from to keep their identities secret (as suggested by Dark). By doing this, it would prevent people from accusing them of bias. An application seems like a good idea too.
I do believe that the forums need a little more oversight, and, since you can't be on all the time, GTQ Guy, moderators seem like the next best option. -
i think moderaters is a good idea like you guys said. i think you should have to be on here for a certan amount of years or whatever to be one so itll be the more experianced people
-
I like the hidden identity idea, like say I were chosen for it, I wouldn't want a whole bunch of people constantly asking me to fix this and delete that. I would only want them to know me as the tritanopia of GTQ.
-
Appay: xD. I also like the hidden identity idea. It sounds good.
-
me too

I can be mature if I want!
If this thing happens, I promise I'll be very, very mature, GTQ Guy. -
There should also be moderating tiers just to test if they can be trusted (kinda like how we have statuses in our normal accounts).
-
I don't know if GTQ Guy will ever see this, it seems to be hit and miss on whether or not people catch his attention. But you were worried about drama arising because mods could be unfair; so why not make it a checks and balances system? Alone, no mod would have any power. But when several mods agree on something and take similar action, then influence can be made?
Like lets say an offensive picture is posted. One Mod comes along and sees it and tries to delete it. But since they're one mod, they can go through the process but nothing would happen. But once one or two more mods see it and go through the same process, the image is deleted.
Or if someone is spamming and a few mods want to suspend that user, they could all agree on the suspension, and the profile would be suspended.
Another idea to keep mods from becoming too power hungry would be to not allow them to totally ban people. Maybe a one or two weeks suspension if the mods agree that the person needs to go, but not actually giving them the power to fully ban.
Or just running with this idea, maybe different Moderator actions require different numbers of votes. Like hiding a picture might only take two. But suspending a user might take three.
I don't know. It sounds like it would work. But you're the boss GTQ Guy. -
I'm fully with Bob on this one in all of his aspects.
-
I've been nominated?
Ah, well if I actually somehow got the mod powers, i guess I'd have more reason to get on here. I'm constantly checking up on here. -
Whatever happens, don't make me an admin. .3. I'm flattered to be suggested but I'm hardly on here enough to do the job properly. I don't stay afloat on newbie drama.
-
And I literally suggested everything in this thread over a year ago and was told no to...

WOLF7567 V2 NewbieI fully agree.
