Yes. Bias in voting, people, bias. It's politics, guys.

Let me demonstrate this.
First off, if we put a limit on voters (just like real life voting), like only those who have been here for a certain time can vote, things will change. Let me give you an example:
GTQ guy announces these characteristics:
1- Honesty
2- Gets on GTQ everyday and is active.
3- Has rarely been a part of GTQ dramas
4- Been here for at least 2 years.
X and Y are close friends and both can vote (this means they've been here for a few years). Y rarely ever gets on and is not very active here but nevertheless X still votes for Y just because she's her friend. Y thanks X and they both think they're very kewl and they'll rule GTQ, but they're unaware that other members who can vote (this means these members have been here for sometime too and know X and Y very well) know that Y isn't suitable for being a moderator at all and all will post in the voting thread and tell GTQ guy that Y doesn't have the second trait and shouldn't be a moderator. This naturally makes X's vote invalid.
Plus, if the person has been here for sometime, he wouldn't want to ruin his reputation among other members with a stupid and immature vote. -
Tell me something, how's GTQ guy supposed to choose a moderator when he barely knows anyone here? It gets even worse if you take a look at previous pages and see that almost every member has stated to want to be a moderator.

I'd be a terrible choice, since, I'd do things to people I can't stand just cuz I can't stand them. And I'm pretty lazy 90% of the time. xP -
GTQ Guy has in the past actually expressed a fondness of his users, to the point he has recalled posts and events that we've made in the past. He isn't ignorant to his users. He does know us better than even he lets on.

And the fact that everyone is saying they want to be a moderator is the reason I haven't said anything or even acknowledged when people vote for me. I don't want to campaign or rally people for me. I don't want to tell people no. If GTQ Guy makes the decision alone, then I have no reason to beg for it. And if GTQ Guy puts it to a vote, I have no reason to beg for it still.
Yes, I would like to be a moderator. I presented this idea around a year ago and the thought died down. But things have changed. It seems like GTQ Guy is actually considering it. And I don't want to present myself as anything other than who I am. If that is deemed Moderator material, then I will gladly accept. If it isn't, then I won't hold it against anyone. -
Actually if GTQ guy knows and trusts one member well enough to make him/her a moderator, then things will be a lot easier. That one person (or two or whatever) can later suggest some other users to GTQ guy for moderatorry.

It would be cool. Although the tritanope levels would go INSANE if I were chosen, and lord we don't want that now do we?

He said that GTQ Guy picks the first Moderators. And that those Mods suggest others later on.
