‘Of course! My cousin, Jaxon Maxwell, worked for this big bad guy. His name was something like Archibald. He came over for a “family renunion”, but actually wanted the programming for Arthur. Funny how that kind of thing has happened twice.’
-
Ohhhhhhh no. Sebastian was dead. Very dead. If this man ever found out what he was here for- and who he was working with- he would be buried alive. "That's insane." He managed to say with a nervous chuckle.
-
‘It is! I nearly died!’ Vincent laughed, like murder was a very funny thing.
-
Sebastian laughed along, trying to hide the ack-I'm-actually-dead-this-isn't-worth-my-paycheck from creeping into their voice.
-
Albert was listening in. He clanked up to Sebastian’s room.
Vincent spooned some mac n cheese into his mouth. ‘Fun times.’ -
"I bet." Sebastian ate quickly.
-
Vincent finished his food after a bit. ‘I’m going to go change. These clothes are a tiny bit dirty.’ Said clothes were covered in grease, oil and soot. ‘See you later!’ He walked out the door.
-
"Bye." Sebastian mumbled before finishing and going up to his room. "What the hell are you doing in here again?" He glared at Albert.
-
Albert looked at him, “hands” on his “hips”. ‘I know why you’re really here.’
-
Sebastian immediately got angry. He found anger as a great band-aid solution to most more complicated feelings, such as fear that a stupid little robot knew the truth. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about."
-
‘You’re trying to steal one of Vincent’s inventions. I should’ve known the moment you stepped through that door. If you don’t tell Vincent right now, I will.’
-
Sebastian debated going further into the lie. "You have no proof. You're just paranoid because of previous apprentices."
-
‘The fact you’re not denying it is proof enough,’ Albert said. ‘Vincent will believe me. So make your choice.’
-
"What are you even talking about? I want a job. He was hiring. Simple as that. It might be hard for your freeloading computer chips to understand, but this place doesn't have rent to pay. I can't afford my apartment." He wasn't totally lying. He couldn't afford his apartment. Stealing valuable inventions meant a raise.
-
Albert just stared at him. ‘I’m programmed to analyse humans. You froze up at the name Archibald. You work for the same man Jaxon Maxwell worked for, Archibald Smith. I know how he works. You’re going to steal as many of Vincent’s inventions as you can, and you’re going to bring them back to Smith and mass produce them. I can tell when you’re lying. So go tell Vincent.’
