“Just for fun, mostly,” Clay answered, gently squeezing George’s hand. “I don’t really care for the competition stuff. Not my thing.”

“Yeah, you probably have enough with sports,” Georg said, shrugging a little.

“Definitely,” Clay said, chuckling softly. He sighed dramatically, leaning closer to George with a chuckle. “Seriously, it’s so f---ing tiring-“

“Have you actually talked to your mom about stopping it?” George said softly, hesitantly wrapping an arm around Clay.

Clay blushed and smiled a little, nodding. “Yeah, but she always just dismisses me and shoots my suggestions down,” he murmured with a sigh, leaning into George’s side.

“Yeah, that’s fair,” George said softly, rubbing Clay’s shoulder with his thumb.

Clay smiled for a moment, leaning into George’s touch. His grin faded and he sighed, crossing his arms. “I just feel like I’m being worked to the bone, sometimes.”

“Yeah, I get that,” George whispered, looking around the room. “But… I- sorry, I don’t really know what to say.”

“It’s fine, don’t worry~” Clay said with a small smile, looking over at George. “I’m just venting, I don’t expect you to have some way to make things better.”

“Oh, okay,” George said, smiling softly. “I’ll try when I can, but-“

“You really don’t have to do anything for me, you liking me for me is enough,” Clay said, a small smile on his face. “I mean, that is the case, right?” He asked, chuckling softly.

“Yeah, it is,” George said with a chuckle. “But- I’d like to… y’know, be more than the bare minimum.”

“Mm, I think you’re doing just fine at that,” Clay said with a small smile, leaning closer to George and kissing his jaw.

George smiled, blushing a little. “Well, I’m glad to hear that-“

Clay beamed, watching George with a smile. “Seriously, I don’t want you to treat me different or anything just because I’m royalty-“
