“I love you too,” George said with a smile, squeezing Clay’s hand before letting go and heading to the door. “I’m only a text away, okay?”
-
Clay nodded, watching George walk off. “Bye-“
-
“Bye,” George echoed, slipping out.
-
Clay exhaled shakily, watching George walk off. He stared at the ground as his mind instantly began racing, kind of regretting letting his boyfriend leave. He started to walk and pace his room, his mother’s words filling his head. All I see is a f---ing ungrateful son who won’t have an heir- Ungrateful- Useless- f------ Piece of s---- You don’t deserve him, you don’t deserve this- You’re just ungrateful for everything you have, you should be so f---ing lucky you have anything that you have! you don’t deserve any of this, though, do you- you should just kill yourself- His mind shut down and he came back to reality as he found himself sat on his closed toilet, holding a razor and thin slits carved onto his arm. Blood began rolling down his arm and he let out a shaky, panicked breath, dropping the razor and standing. f---. He stood and quickly went to wash off his arm, his hands trembling as he patched up his arm. f---, what do I tell George…

George knocked on the door, slipping into the room before he could be seen. “Hello?” -
Clay looked over on his seat on the couch, fidgeting with the sleeve of the long sleeve shirt he was wearing. He hadn’t work long sleeved shirts in ages, but he needed something to cover the wraps on his arms. “H-Hey,” he spoke softly, smiling a bit nervously at George.
-
“You feeling better?” George said with a soft smile, placing the sandwich down on his desk and walking over to the couch.
-
“Yeah, I- I’m fine, I just needed a minute to, y’know, calm down a bit-“ Clay spoke softly, nodding as he ran a hand through his hair. He bit his lip in pain, cursing in his head when he moved the wrong arm. “Sorry about earlier, I just- needed some alone time.”
-
“Yeah, I get that,” George said with a nod, sitting next to Clay on the couch. “I don’t think I’ve seen that shirt before.
-
Clay looked down, inhaling softly. “Yeah, it’s uh- it’s an old shirt. I got cold and figured I’d just- put on a long sleeve shirt,” he said, crossing his arms over his chest and keeping a hand over the wrapped area.
-
George watched Clay for a moment with a slight frown. “What’s up?”
-
“Nothing- I’m okay, really,” Clay spoke softly, watching George for a moment. “I- I mean, I guess- I guess I’m still on edge from earlier,” he murmured, leaning against George’s side.
-
“That- yeah, that makes sense,” George said with a nod, offering his hand to Clay.
