Clay glanced over and resisted the urge to smile brightly at George, nodding. “Thank you,” he replied, a hint of a smile slipping onto his face as he watched the brunette.
-
George poorly hid a smile as the princess thanked him. “Can I get either of you something to drink?”
-
“I’ll take a water, please,” Clay replied, his eyes hardly ever leaving George as his smile grew ever so slightly.
-
“I’ll also have a water,” Brigid said with a gentle smile, fixing her posture. George nodded, grabbing the pitcher and pouring Brigid a glass before moving to Clay’s glass.
-
Clay leaned back in his seat, continuing to watch George for a moment before realizing he was staring. He blushed a little and looked away, picking up his glass and taking a drink after the brunette filled his cup.
-
George sighed quietly, setting the pitcher down in its designated spot before backing away. “Enjoy your lunch, and please let me know if anything is wrong.”
-
“Of course, thank you,” Clay said, looking back at George and smiling a little at him.
-
“You’re welcome,” George said with a smile, walking out of the room. “Do you know him?”
-
“Uh-“ Clay tensed up, blushing a little. “Uh, I- I suppose you could say that,” he replied, chuckling nervously.
-
“How do you know him?” Brigid said with a soft smile.
-
“I uh, I went down to the kitchen one day and we uh, kind of just ran into each other,” Clay replied, a small smile on his face.
-
“That’s so nice,” Brigid said with a smile. “Do you have personal relationships with most of the workers here?”
-
“Uhh, kind of?” Clay said, his face heating up. He wasn’t completely lying, he did always make an effort to be kind to the staff, but not in the way he connected with George.
-
“That’s so nice,” She said with a smile.
(kinda brain dead :’) -
