The queen knocked on Clay’s door, waiting for him to answer. -
Clay hummed as he stood from the couch and paused his show, going to the door and opening it. "Oh- Hi, Mom," he said, straightening his posture a little.
(do you want to be his dad or should i?) -
(uhh if u don’t mind🤷♀️)
“Hi, hun- are you busy right now? We have someone for you to meet-“ His mom said with a fake smile. -

"Uh- No, I'm not?" Clay replied, furrowing his brows in confusion. "What- Who am I meeting??" -
“One of the Princesses from the ball- Princess Brigid,” She said, gesturing for him to follow her.

Clay froze for a moment but quickly started moving, crossing his arms over his chest.

“She’s a very nice girl, and I’m sure you two will like each other-“ She said, leading him towards the main foyer.

"Sure, yeah," Clay muttered, an awkward look on his face as he followed his mother.

“And marrying her will really be quite beneficial for when you’re king-“ The queen said with a smile.

"Great, just what I want," Clay murmured sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

“Excuse me?” She said, stopping and turning to look at him.

Clay froze, taking a step back. "Sorry, I- It's just-" He exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "You could have at least, y'know, let me pick instead of sending me off to some random girl-"

“Remember when I told you you have two days? It’s been four, so I’ve been quite generous, Clay,” She said angrily, starting to walk again.

"R-Right, yeah," Clay muttered, continuing to follow his mother.
