Georgie rushed into the house and into their father’s room, seeing their brother Rupert sat by his bed clinging to his head. “You’re gonna be okay, Father,” he whispered shakily, their voice cracking a little. Georgie let out a gasp and rushed over, fumbling to pull out the medicine. “Georgie- Where the f--- have you been?!” Rupert exclaimed, a mixture of anger and worry in his voice. “I-I’m sorry, I got held up by something, but-“ Georgie spoke shakily, pulling put the medicine and moving to her unconscious, shallow breathing father. She poured out some medicine and lifted it to his mouth, helping him swallow it.
-
Casimir stood by the door, leaning against the wall. He didn’t want to get in way and make things worse.
-
The two stood by their father, hoping for some reaction, but when he stayed in the same position, they panicked even further. “Georgie, what do we do?!” Rupert spoke, his voice rising in panic. “I- I don’t know!” Georgie exclaimed, tears filling their eyes.
-
Casimir gently wrapped his arms around Georgie, kissing the back of their head. ‘Do you have a landline? I’ll call a medic.’
-
“Yeah, it’s in the kitchen- Rue, watch over Father, okay?” Georgie spoke shakily, gently pulling away from Casimir. He grabbed his hand and led him downstairs, trying to keep it together.
-
Casimir squeezed their hand, hurrying after them. ‘He’s going to be okay, okay?’
-
Georgie exhaled shakily, a choked sob escaping their lips. “I can’t lose him, I just can’t…” He spoke, blindly reaching for the landline on the wall.
-
Casimir gently took the landline and dialled a number. ‘I know, baby. I’m calling the best medic in the kingdom, okay?’ He held the landline up to his ear. ‘Yes, hello- Get Albert Cunningham to come..’ He gave the person on the other line the address, had to state who he was about five times, but eventually hung up. ‘They’re coming.’
-
Georgie exhaled shakily, clinging to his boyfriend and burying his face in Casimir’s chest as they cried.
-
Casimir gently rubbed their back, holding them close. ‘It’ll be okay,’ he said softly.
-
Georgie clung to Casimir, exhaling shakily as he squeezed his eyes shut. “I can’t lose my dad…”
-
‘I know, I know. It’ll all work out, okay?’ Casimir spoke softly, kissing the top of his head. He heard sirens, and let go. ‘I’ll go get the doctors and show them to your father’s room. You go back up and check on Rupert, okay ‘
-
Georgie nodded and let go of Casimir, rubbing their teary eyes. They headed back to their father’s room, going to Rupert. “How’s he doing?” He asked shakily, looking at their father. “Not good, the- the medicine’s not helping,” he spoke quietly, silent tears rolling down his face. “The- the medics are here,” Georgie spoke, letting out a shaky breath.
-
Casimir lead the medics up to Georgie’s room. The head one looked around. ‘This is Albert,’ Casimir said, stepping aside. Albert grabbed a stethoscope and put it to Georgie’s father’s chest, looking for a heartbeat. He grimaced and checked for a pulse, then gestured for one of his assistants to bring him medication.
-
Georgie and Rupert moved out of the way a bit, Georgie moving to Casimir’s side. “He’ll- he’ll be okay, right?” Rupert asked the doctor, his voice shaking.
