"I- I think I need a minute to calm down," Georgie spoke softly, exhaling softly. "I- I wouldn't mind having someone to- to talk to for a bit, though-"
-
'I can stay if you want,' Casimir said, moving his hands down to Georgie's and holding them gently.
-
Georgie blushed and smiled a little, nodding. “I’d like that,” they spoke, gently squeezing Casimir’s hands. He exhaled softly, closing his eyes for a moment. “I hope he doesn’t try to go yell at my dad, he already has enough to deal with…”
-
'He'll be fine. If he does I'll get him in trouble for harassing men on their death bed,' Casimir said, rubbing the back of their hands with his thumb. 'I can try to get your prosthetic back, or a new one that doesn't hurt your, er, remainder of your leg.'
-
“That would be great, honestly-“ Georgie spoke, a grateful smile on their face. “The one I have- Well, had, definitely hurts my leg after a while,” he mumbled, letting go of Casimir’s hands for a moment and pushed himself to a sitting position. He rolled up the leg of his pants, revealing his wrapped up leg that was missing the bottom half just below the knee.
-
'Fair enough. I can talk to someone about that soon if you like,' Casimir said. He was trying to contain his anger for the guy who had threatened Georgie.
-
“I’d like that, yes please,” Georgie said with a small smile, beginning to unwrap the bandages around his leg. He winced a little, inspecting the cuts and bruises on his leg. “Could you grab me my ointments and bandages? It’s all in that bottom drawer of the desk,” he said to Casimir, pointing to the desk.
-
Casimir stood up and opened the bottom drawer. He pulled out the ointments and bandages and held them out to Georgie.
-
“Thank you,” Georgie spoke softly with a small smile, taking the ointments and bandages. He began putting some on his leg, soon rewrapping his leg. “Ugh, it hurts so bad today, I dunno why…”
-
'You can rest for the remainder of the day. I'll get someone else to maintain the gardens,' Casimir said, sitting back down.
-
“Really?” Georgie asked softly, watching Casimir for a moment. “But- I need to keep working, I- I need to keep making money for my family-“
-
'You'll still get the money, okay? I don't want you overworking yourself.'
-
Georgie exhaled softly, nodding as he finished wrapping his leg. “I just, feel kind of useless when I’m not working…”
-
'Just focus on getting better,' Casimir said, gently rubbing their arm.
-
Georgie nodded, leaning into Casimir’s touch. He sighed, moving the ointments and bandages to the floor before laying down.
