Mordecai is so genius. by falsely planting a left handed pistol (and removing the firing pin) it shows that he knew he would be searched, and he wouldn't give any details about him down to his dominat hand. instead of combat, he uses his smaller build to dodge and tire the opponent out, even if he would be snapped like a twig.
