‘He’ll be fine, I promise,’ Mason said, taking his fingers through his hair and holding him close. ‘He’s in good hands.’

Chris exhaled shakily, nodding as he clung to Mason.

Mason held him tightly, resting his head on Chris’s. ‘Do you want me to go check on the twins?’

“Sure, I- I need a minute to breathe,” Chris said, exhaling softly.

Mason squeezed his hands for a moment before standing up and walking upstairs.

Chris exhaled softly and leaned back against the couch, rubbing his face with shaky hands. Take a deep breath, you’re okay-

Mason opened the twin’s bedroom door. ‘Hey, are you two okay?’

Tristan looked over, finishing off the ponytail she was giving Justin. “Yep! I’m giving Justin a makeover!” “MASON, HELP ME-“ Justin shouted, trying to get away. “Oh no, you don’t!” Tristan exclaimed, dragging Justin back over.

Mason chuckled. ‘Hey, Chris!’ he called. ‘You might want to see this.’

Chris looked over towards the twins bedroom and slowly stood, walking over. He moved in and saw Justin on the ground, pinned underneath Tristan, who was trying to redo his ponytail. “Pfft- You guys are crazy-“

Mason chuckled. He wrapped an arm around Chris. ‘Feeling better?’ he asked softly.

“A little,” Chris replied softly, leaning into Mason’s side. He watched as Tristan whacked her brother’s hands away, playfully pushing his head against the carpet. “Let me go! I don’t want a makeover!” Justin shouted, flailing his legs under his sister. “Just let me give you one, I’ll make it quick and painless!” “Help meeeee!”

Mason chuckled, holding Chris close. ‘Your siblings are weird.’
