Chris chuckled and nodded, heading into the living room. “Do you wanna go up to my room?” He asked softly, keeping an arm around Mason’s waist.

‘Yeah, sure,’ Mason said, blushing profusely.

Chris nodded and headed towards his room, his mind still reeling.

Mason sat him down on the bed and held him close. ‘So..’

“God, I don’t even know where to start-“ Chris spoke, exhaling softly. “I- I think I do like you, but- I dunno, there’s just, this other weird feeling I get-“

‘What is it?’ Mason asked quietly.

“It- It almost feels, wrong?” Chris whispered, exhaling shakily. “I know it’s not! I know it’s normal, but- I dunno, maybe it’s just some sort of internalized homophobia or something…”

‘It’s okay,’ Mason said softly, giving a small smile. He grabbed his hands and gently rubbed the back of them. ‘Have you ever had a crush on a guy before?

“No, at- at least not that I know of-“ Chris spoke softly, looking over at Mason.

Mason nodded, giving a small smile. ‘Take your time to figure out your feelings, okay? I don’t mind.’

“But- I- I don’t want you to feel like I’m- like I’m leading you on,” Chris murmured, exhaling shakily.

Mason looked down, unsure how to respond. He fidgeted with his hands.

“f---, I- I’m sorry, I-“ Chris exhaled shakily, burying his face in his hands. “I’m such an a--hole, aren’t I…”

‘You’re not,’ Mason said, looking back at them. ‘I-I just don’t know what to do.’

“I- I really do think I like you, I just-“ Chris hugged his legs to his chest, staring at the ground. “What if this just makes things worse? Us- Us getting together? I- I don’t want to deal with the bullying, and- and I would beat myself up if it just got even worse for you, Mason…”
