"Honey, I'm sure that's not the case," she spoke, her voice becoming a little shaky. "Maybe- Maybe his father wanted to speak with him, and came to get him. He may have just forgotten to grab his phone." She exhaled and gave her son a quick squeeze before letting go. "How about- How about you go and get ready for school, and you can get going, see if he's already there, okay?" -
:()
Nick nodded, taking a shaky breath before letting go of her. “Okay, yeah. Good idea,” He said quietly, taking Karl’s phone and heading back to his room. He quickly got changed, coming back out and slipping his shoes on. He was trying to go as quickly as he could so he could see if Karl really was at school, to make sure he’s okay. -
imsoclueless Senior(sorry, it's- it's making me big sad, too, dw :'(
i just like to make my characters s u f f e r >:))
Nick's mother nodded, watching her son walk off and out the front door. She sighed and grabbed her own phone, calling the school. God, I hope my son's not right, she thought anxiously, waiting for somebody to pick up and answer the phone.
(wanna ts to a few days later, where nick learns abt what happened to karl?) -
(you evil, evil woman 😭😭😭 how dare you hurt fictional characters
and if we must 😔)
Nick had his head down on his desk, hood up as he tried not to cry for probably the tenth time today, and it wasn’t even lunch time yet. He had struggled to sleep the past few days, not only being alone in his bed for the first time in a while but not having any idea where Karl was. And he stayed up trying to think of why and how his strange disappearance happened. -
imsoclueless Senior(xD
that's what good writers do, tug at the heartstrings, right??)
The intercom buzzed on and a man's voice spoke, a bit static-y over the speakers. "Can I have Nick Armstrong come down to the guidance counselor's office?" He asked, earning a reply from the teacher. The lady gestured to Nick, telling him he can go. Students made murmurs, watching Nick as he stood up and left the room. -
( that is true, unfortunately 😔😔)
Nick picked up his head, grabbing his stuff and heading down to the guidance counselors office. He had been there a couple times, asking if she knew where he was and begging her to help. He wasn’t too hopeful because the last time he had been there she had just wanted him to talk about his feelings - which didn’t seem to help him much. He turned into the counselors office, knocking and waiting for a reply. -
imsoclueless SeniorThe door was pulled open and the guidance counselor smiled warmly at Nick, beckoning him inside. "Good morning, Nick," she spoke in a gentle voice, gesturing for the ravenette to sit. "I wanted to talk to you about Karl. I know you're worried, and I've got good news for you."
-
Nicks brows furrowed and his eyes lit up a little bit as he sat down. “Do you know where he is? Is he okay?” He sat on the edge of his seat, wringing his hands together.
-
imsoclueless Senior"I do, and he's doing just fine," the guidance counselor replied, a hesitant smile on her face. "He's not going to be back at school for a while, though. He's currently staying at a mental health institution, on his own accord."
-
Nick frowned a little bit. “He’s-“ He paused, rubbing his face with his hand. “When did he go? How longs he gonna be there?”
-
imsoclueless Senior"His father called me and told me he went to the urgent care near their house a few days ago, and was admitted the morning after he went," she explained, hesitancy in her voice. "And I'm guessing about a month, from what his father spoke of. I know you must be worried, and surely losing sleep over this, but he's in good hands."
-
Nick blinked slowly as he thought, dissociating a little bit. “Okay,” he responded in a whisper, nodding. “Thank you. For letting me know.” He wrung his hands, his knuckles turning white.

imsoclueless Senior(changing it to- about a month or two, maybe ,**)
"I know this is a lot for you to take in, but I promise he, and you, will be okay," she spoke in a gentle voice, a sympathetic look on her face. "Unfortunately, you can't visit him right now, but you should be able to next Monday, alright? Just a few days. And you two can always write each other letters, stay in contact while he's gone." -
imsoclueless Senior(maybe three* damnit-

“Okay,” Nick said quietly, nodding. “Can I go back to class?” He asked, pointing to the door with his thumb.
