Quinn put down his coffee and kneeled in front of him, a hand on his shoulder. ‘Hey, you won’t have to go back, okay? Look at me.’
-
Elliot looked up at Quinn, fear still in his eyes. "It's- It's still gonna h-happen, she's l-looking for me..."
-
Quinn shook his head, gently massaging his back with his one hand. ‘She won’t find you, I promise. You can stay here, okay? I’ll make sure she doesn’t find you.’
Quinn knew what The Huntress was capable of. His brother had told him when they rarely called. He knew it was a promise he might not be able to keep, but he needed Elliot to calm down. -
Elliot exhaled shakily as he leaned into Quinn's touch, his hand relaxing and letting go of his shirt. "...thank you." He spoke after a moment of silence, slowing his breathing.
-
Quinn smiled weakly, gently pulling him close so he could pull away if he wanted to, still rubbing his back. ‘You’re welcome.’
-
Elliot lifted his arms for a moment to reciprocate the hug but hesitated, resting his arms down at his side. He pulled back after a moment, sitting back on the floor as he wiped his eyes. "Sorry... Didn't mean to freak you out of anything," he replied with an awkward chuckle. "But, please, don't tell anyone I'm here."
-
Quinn shook his head, smiling softly. ‘Don’t be sorry. And I won’t, I promise.’ He stood up and held his hand out to Elliot, so he could get back on the couch. ‘Would you like some breakfast?’
-
Elliot hesitated for a moment before taking Quinn's hand, slowly standing up. "Yeah, breakfast sounds good," he said with a small, hesitant smile, sitting back down on the couch.
-
‘Good. I’ll be about 10 minutes,’ Quinn said, letting go of his hand and stepping back. He glanced at the TV, still blaring something about Elliot being a murderer, and changed the channel. ‘Give a shout if you need anything, okay? And, er, don’t try and kill me.’
-
"Got it," Elliot replied, chuckling, "and I'll try my best~" He joked, smirking. He turned back to the TV and sighed, grabbing the duvet and covering his head. That wasn't what I had planned...
-
Quinn rolled his eyes, chuckling. He watched as Elliot did so, cocking his head slightly. ‘Elliot?’
-
"Yeah?" Elliot replied, the duvet sliding off his head as he looked over at Quinn.
-
‘I promise you’re safe here. So long as you don’t bring up at droid incident again,’ Quinn said with a teasing smile, picking up his coffee. ‘You don’t need to worry.’
-
Elliot chuckled and nodded, smiling softly at Quinn. "You got it, capt'n," he joked with a chuckle, pretending to salute him.
-
Quinn laughed and walked out of the room to make them both breakfast.
