“Yeah,” Nick said with a nod. “I tried to ease Sli into it but he was more upset just sitting in a room so I let him wander around and he seemed fine. I have yet to really introduce him to Lucy, but I dunno if I actually will.” -
(stressed from school, but fine other than that lol

"Yeah, I'm not sure how they'd react to each other," Karl said, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'm sure it'll work itself out, though," he added, smiling at Nick. The door of the clinic opened and a young boy with a dog on a leash walked out, followed by an older woman with a box. "You can head on in, Nick- Oh my God, let me see the babies again!" Karl exclaimed, jumping up and rushing over to the woman. She laughed, extending the box with puppies inside. Karl awed at them, smiling. "My gosh, they're so gosh darn cute," he added, giggling. "I'm glad they're all doing well- and Trixie for that matter." "Yeah, it was a stressful birth for her, but she's doing great," the lady replied, smiling. "Yeah! Now I have new friends!" The little boy beamed, hugging the tail-wagging older dog. Karl giggled, nodding. "Indeed you will, Jack. Have a good day!" He waved as they walked out of the building, going back over to his desk. -

“Awww, those were the cutest puppies,” Nick said with a chuckle as they walked out. -
"I know, right?" Karl added, giggling. Kayden poked her head out of the clinic room, smiling. "You can come on in, Nick," she said with a smile, waving him over.
(braindead and pissed at how much work i have for school-
to be fair it's mostly late work i procrastinated on until now, but some are projects i need done :')) -
Nick smiled with a nod, picking up Bee’s crate. “Who should I give this paper to?”
(eww school work is awful 😭) -
"I'll take it," Karl said, extending his hand to Nick to take the paper.
(i'm literally so over it, srsly. and it doesn't help that it's my fault i'm behind bc i can't focus on my work for the life of me. i procrastinate everything and/or just outright forget abt said projects/tests/etc. i have a chem project due next week and i keep forgetting abt it-) -
“Alright,” Nick said with a smile, handing Karl the paper and following the vet into the room.
(no it’s the worst when you have to many assignments and you keep forgetting bc you have so many) -

also am brainded and idk what to do for the check up ^^' lol) -

Nick came out with Bee again after a little while, holding her crate in one hand and a full of fresh supplies in the other. “Hello, we’re back!” -
"Hey!" Karl said with a smile, waving at Nick. "Bee's looking good, she's even able to walk a bit better now," Kayden said to the brunette, poking her head out of the clinic room. "Aw, that's great!" He said with a smile, peering into Bee's crate.

“Yep, she’s a strong girl,” Nick said with a chuckle, setting her crate down on the counter. “Uh, I’m gonna bring this stuff to me car,” He held up the bag of supplies, “and then I’ll be right back. That okay?”

"Yeah, all good," Karl replied with a smile, nodding as he sat back down in his chair. "Let me know when my next appointment gets here," Kayden said to the brunette, watching him for a moment. "Gotcha!" He said in response, flashing her a thumbs up. She smiled and nodded, shutting the door when she went inside.

Nick went out to his car, putting the supplies in his passanger seat and returning inside the shelter. He gave Karl a small smile as he joined him behind the counter, sliding Bees crate over to him as he sat down next to the brunette. “Do you think I could take her out and just hold her?”
