Nick nodded again. “I’m looking to adopt more than one, if that’s possible.”
-
"Yeah, totally!" Karl said with a smile, walking forward. "Looking for a specific animal? Dog, cat, rabbit, snake??"
-
“Uh, no, nothing specific,” Nick shrugged. “Just, y’know, whenever been in here the longest, maybe?”
-
Karl nodded with a smile, walking over to one of the crates. An energetic dog stood and limped over, barking happily as Karl crouched and opened the crate door. He picked up the dog, smiling and scratching it behind the ear. "This is Penny, and she's a long haired dachshund." The dog yipped, trying to climb out of Karl's arm and go to Nick. "She's a wild one, that's for sure. She was born without her back legs, so not many people tend to want her, even though she's one of the younger animals here."
-
Nick smiled, reaching out a hand to pet Penny’s head. “Hi there, you’re adorable.”
-
Penny yipped happily, frantically licking Nick's hand. Karl giggled, smiling. "She sure likes you," he said with a chuckle, petting Penny again. Penny squirmed in his arms, wanting to get down. "Okay, okay, relax, honey," Karl said with a chuckle, walking over to a fenced in area. He bent over and set Penny down, letting her run around in the pen. He walked over to another few crates, letting out the young puppies inside and corralling them over to the play pen. "Maybe now they'll get their energy out," he added, walking over to another crate. He reached up and opened it, gently reaching in and grabbing the animal inside. "This is Bee," he said, cradling a large, light brown rabbit in his arms. "She got, uhm, hurt- and was dropped off here a few months ago, so we're trying to get her healed and into a new home."
-
“Aww, poor thing,” Nick said softly, reaching out to gently pet Bee, hoping not to scare her.
-
Bee flinched and tensed when Nick's hand touched her, but melted under his touch, leaning into his hand. "She's a nervous little wreck, but an absolute sweetheart," Karl said with a smile, watching Nick for a moment.
-
“Aww, she’s so precious,” Nick said softly, smiling.
-
"I know, right?" Karl said, gently petting her ears. He let Nick pet her for a few more minutes before setting her back in her crate. "And our oldest, and most grumpy patron, Eli- Well, 'Sir Eli' as dubbed by the owner's kid," Karl added with a chuckle, shutting Bee's crate and walking over to another one. "I would try and get him out, but I'm still recovering from last time." He shuddered, chuckling awkwardly. "I have scratches all over my arms."
(won't be able to reply too much tonight, sorry ^^'
but guess what??) -
(all good!
what?? :0)
“Not the happiest guy?” Nick said with a chuckle, leaning down to look at Eli. -
(i'm officially a member of my church's youth worship band!!)
"Absolutely not," Karl said with a sigh, crouching down to peer into the crate. "Sometimes he can be nice, but every other time he's a little b----," he said, shooting a glare at the cat. "I love him, he's a cute guy, but still. Not nice." -
(:0 CONGRATSSS! that’s so awesome :DDD)
“Huh, alright,” Nick said with a nod. “Was he not treated well? Is that why he’s so agressive?” -
(yeah :D i'm really excited!!
ngl stressing a bit abt class tomorrow bc i can't find if my english teacher posted hw that was due?
so if i had smth to work on over break, it's her fault for not reminding us lmaoo)
"Honestly, we're not sure," Karl replied with a shrug, glancing over at Nick. "Maybe that's why, maybe he's just not used to interacting with people," he added, standing up right, "or maybe he's just a little demon from hell." He chuckled, shaking his head. "I can show you a few other animals up for adoption, or some of the younger ones that are up for foster care." -
(thats so awesome!
and yeah her fault hehe)
Nick chuckled a little bit. “Sure, if you have time.”
