There is a group of teenagers (our characters) that help the elderly and other people with work and chores for money. They split the profits between them, which doesn’t amount to much.
The leader (role taken) needs a faster way to earn money, so they suggest ghost hunting. The rest thought it was a dumb idea, but the videos on YouTube were epic, so they agreed.
But they weren’t expecting to come into contact with actual ghosts…
It’s a strange plot, but one I’m willing to try out. Anybody can join, preferably no more than 5 people. You can have up to 2 characters.

Impish grin, waist long hair usually ties in a ponytail. Most often wears a face mask. Had reading glasses.
Backstory: His mum was taken to prison two years ago for treason. He’s been living with his aunt ever since.
Skills: Scheming, cracking jokes, freaking people out
What do you need the money for?: Mum’s bail and legal defence
Other: Actually quite smart, but never in important things. Leader of the group.

Personality (optional): Very closed off, but in a rider way than Xavier. He tends to be very serious and sarcastic.

Eyes that are seemingly black. Plain and dark clothes.
Backstory: ‘None of your goddamn business!’
Skills: Sarcasm. Flute playing. Roasting people. Picking up small details other people don’t tend to notice.
What do you need the money for?: ‘Go away!’
Other: Xavier’s best friend. Unlike him, Jacob is quite intellectual. Jacob collects plushies. His favourite is his limited edition shark. Also likes the beach. -

Backstory: Her mother died when she was 11 turning her father into a alcoholic and drug addict. -

Personality (optional): Very bold, energetic, and trendy, and not afraid to pick a fight and be rude. Doesn’t care what others say. However, she also has a nicer side, mostly shown with her friends, family, and girlfriend.
Appearance (including clothes): (This is not my art)
Backstory: Her father used to be a millionaire and a very famous art dealer, and he was the one who taught her not to care what others thought of her. However, when she was about 15, he got scammed by a notorious scammer and never managed to recover his money. They weren’t poor, but they were used to a lavish lifestyle. Then when Velvette was 17, her mother got tired of living like ordinary people and married a rich man, but never gave Velvette and her father a single penny. So now she wants to earn her way back to the luxurious lifestyle that she grew up in.
Skills: Insulting her enemies to tears before they have a chance to even speak, social media, persuasion, and keeping up with trends in social media and in fashion.
What do you need the money for?: Get back to living like celebrities(which they used to be)
Other: She has a social media account on most platforms, each of them averaging about 20-30 thousand followers. She makes good money out of them, but she needs more. -

Personality (optional): goofy but can be serious when needed, is a bit of a scaredy cat, will put everything out the way to save someone in danger
Appearance (including clothes): Japanese, black hair with a single blond streak, blue eyes, wears hoodies and baggy clothing but can rock a suit
Backstory: something about picking locks and stealing things for people, until went to prison, after he came out of prison he refused to do anything else for them, they repeatedly beat him up until he moved away
Skills: pretty good at picking locks, hearing things, pointing things out
What do you need the money for?: paying off a deal gone wrong
Other: was in prison for 2 months for breaking into a car to save a child, he moved from japan to wherever this is set, sometimes says words in Japanese -

Backstory: Was born and raised in a happy household for a few years, until his father was arrested for reasons that are still unknown, even to the local police.
Skills: Keeping up with news and reporting it to the group, teasing people.
What do you need the money for?: To pay for insurance, in hopes of finding his stolen car.
Other: Spencer has a cat named Misty. -

Alrighty, let’s start. There is no posting order, but please make sure everyone has a turn :)
The crew was cleaning the basement of Xavier’s grandmother. The boy had quickly disposed of all the baby photos his elder had kept of him before the others could see.
‘How much is Nona paying us, again?’ Xavier complained, waving away a moth.
‘10 dollars,’ Jacob responded, glaring at a framed picture of a clown. He was pretty sure normal grandmothers didn’t keep clown pictures in their basement.
Xavier pulled his mask over his lower face. ‘Each?’
‘Nope.’ -
"We're supposed to share ten dollars between six of us??" Corey sighed in frustration as she scrubbed the dirt of the walls. "When was the last time your Nona cleaned this?" she gasped as a pile of dust fell down making her cough.

Gojiko seems confused " 10 doesn't go into 6, there would be 4 dollars left..." He moves some things out the way so he could get to a different section of the basement.

Spencer hastily grabbed a dusty object lying on the floor, surrounded with old boxes and bags. He attempted to polish it with a handkerchief. It was an old, frayed picture of a man and woman standing next to each other, smiling and grinning with glee. He set it onto a table next to him and left it alone.
"We could split the ten dollars, and get one dollar and 60 cents each," Spencer managed. "But there would be four cents left over. So it's either that or we put it into our savings." -
“I’ll say we go with Spencer’s idea, I really need every bit of money I can get.” Velvette said, attempting to tackle a large cobweb. She jumped back with a screech as a spider suddenly flew out of the cobweb and clung on as hard as it could to her. She quickly flung it to the floor and stamped hard several times on it.
“Is this really worth it? This thing is the ickiest thing I’ve ever seen!”
As soon as she said those words, a bat suddenly flew out of a loose board and attacked her face. She dropped her duster and immediately shielded her face with one arm, swatting at the bat with the other.
