Ernie paused a moment, not sure whether to hide or laugh or anything in between. He wrapped her in a big hug after thinking it through.

Mahina was caught by surprise. She smiled softly and wrapped her arms around him.

"Well, I definitely don't hate you." Ernest said quietly.

Mahina smiled. She buried her face in his shoulder. ‘Thank you,’ she mumbled.

"For what? Not hating you?" Ernie shook his head. "Thank you for telling me."

‘It’s fine,’ Mahina said. ‘You’re not going to turn me in to the police, are you?’ she checked. It didn’t seem like something Ernest would do but she wanted to be sure.

"And get you killed?" Ernest shook his head again. "Not unless you curse me."
(Gonna go, bye!) -
‘I would never,’ Mahina said. ‘Thank you.’
(Bye) -
"You're very welcome." Ernie smiled.

Mahina smiled, leaning against him again.

Ernest relaxed a bit.

‘We should get back to dinner.’

"Yeah." Ernie's potatoes had started boiling by now.

Mahina kissed him on the cheek with a shy smile and turned back to her sausages.

Ernest blushed a LOT, grinning as he turned to the potatoes.
