Mahina smiled to herself. She used the tongs to set the sausages on a plate, then grabbed some spinach and avocado from the hole in the floor.

Ernie looked back at her occasionally while he worked, still blushing.

Mahina caught him glancing at her at some point. She smiled shyly then turned back to the food.

Ernest smiled nervously, not saying anything.

Mahina grabbed two plates out and put one sausage on each, as well as some spinach and avocado.

Ernie finished with the potatoes after a bit, grabbing a plate to put them in.

‘Could you cut them up and put three halves on each?’ Mahina asked. ‘You can put the rest in the cupboard. I’ll be right back.’ She walked outside.

"Of course." Ernie cut them up, and shoved the bag of potatoes in the cupboard.

Mahina smiled and shut the door behind her. She walked into the garden and picked some lavender.

Ernest waited for Mahina.

Mahina came back in with a handful of lavender five minutes later. She wrapped string around to make it into a bundle and set it on a shelf close to the front door.

Ernie grinned once Mahina walked in.

‘Missed me, didn’t you?’ Mahina teased.

"Yes." Ernest admit, chuckling.

Mahina blushed slightly. She was expecting a straight up no.
