Ernest looked at Selene and then back down at Mahina.

Mahina gripped Ernest’s hand.

Ernie massaged her hand gently, smiling.

Mahina’s breath smoothed out after a bit, and her wide eyes closed.

"Mahina?" Ernie asked softly. "Can you hear me?"

Mahina whimpered.

Ernest gave a small sigh.

Selene tried after a bit. ‘Nina?’

Ernie kissed her hand gently.

‘Mmm,’ Mahina hummed, squeezing Ernest’s hand.

Ernie gave a hopeful smile. "Mahina?"

Selene kissed Mahina’s forehead. ‘Nina, can you speak?’
Mahina made a muffled humming sound, turning on her side. -
Ernest gave a small sigh, squeezing her hand.

Selene sighed. ‘Just give her time. She’ll get better.’

Ernie nodded. "I know." He said quietly.
