‘Does that mean I can go to the village now?’ Mahina asked hopefully.
‘No!’ Henrik exclaimed, turning on her. ‘You’ll do no such thing!’
Callisto sighed. ‘Selene, you agreed to take her in-‘
‘Because you, for some reason, couldn’t handle a four-year-old,’ Mahina grumbled. -
Selene would've chuckled if the circumstances weren't this. "Mahina's staying here. If you couldn't take care of her when she was four, you probably can't take care of her now. She's very... Accident prone."
(Gtg, I'll be back in like, 3 hours or so, sorry!) -
‘Hey!’ Mahina complained.
‘Selene, be reasonable,’ Callisto said. ‘Surely it would be easier for you to take her off your hands?’
Mahina looked away. She wasn’t THAT difficult, she was sure… -
Selene looked at Mahina. She did feel bad for saying that. Mahina wasn't too destructive... Most of the time. "Why do you want her so bad now, anyways?" She asked, looking back at Callisto.

‘Because you failed to keep her safe,’ Henrik said. ‘It will take forever to find her a new carer!’

Selene shook her head again. She didn't quite trust the two of them with Mahina enough. "Who's to say you two will keep her safe if you couldn't handle her as a toddler?"

Mahina was tempted to slip away and run to the village. She needed to see Ernest.
‘Selene, you know why we couldn’t look after her,’ Callisto said. -
Selene leaned against the doorframe, thinking about that for a minute. "The answer is still no." She said plainly.

Mahina sidestepped behind Henrik. Maybe they’d be too occupied to notice.
‘Why not?’ Henrik demanded. -
Selene noticed Mahina trying to escape. She didn't blame her. "Don't do dumb things while you're gone, Mahina." She looked back at Henrik. "Because I said so, and I don't trust either of you."
(Gtg for lunch, I'll be back soon!) -
Henrik’s hand went to his pocket. Callisto put a hand on his shoulder. ‘Now, I’m sure we can sort this out like civilised people.’

Selene's hand immediately went to her wand in case things got messy. She glared at Henrik.

Henrik matched her expression.
Mahina ran off, down to the nearest village. She looked around for Ernest. -
Ernie saw Maeve in the village. He put his book away. "Mahina!" He said, waving.

Mahina looked around, searching for the voice. When her eyes fell on Ernest she jogged over.
