Selene didn't hear this interaction since she was in the house.

The woman just smiled. ‘Where’s Selene, my dear?’
Mahina wrinkled her nose. ‘How do you know Selene?’ -
"Where is she?" The woman repeated.

‘In the house, but-‘ Mahina was cut up. She felt like her mouth was being forced shut.
‘The youth of today, Laura. They ask too many questions,’ the man sighed.
‘That’s our kid you’re talking about,’ Laura chuckled.
‘I’m sure we raised her better than this.’
‘You didn’t raise me at all!’ -
Laura pursed her lips tight, and walked up to the front door.

(Oh lord they already had names. Change the woman’s name to Callisto)
Mahina watched them. She followed, until her legs got rooted to the spot. ‘Hey! You can’t do that!’
‘Henrik, be nice,’ Callisto chided. ‘She deserves to know.’ -

Henrik sighed. "Fine." Mahina could move again. -

Mahina stared at them. Who were these people? The two turned to walk into the house, so Mahina obviously followed. -

Callisto knocked quickly. Henrik glanced at Mahina every so often, giving her that: 'Don't you dare do anything stupid' look. -

Mahina stared at them both in both horror and fascination. Selene opened the door and paled. -
Selene didn't bother putting on a fake smile. "What do you two want?" She asked bluntly.

‘To take our daughter back,’ Henrik said, like it was obvious. ‘Her time with you is up, thanks to what happened yesterday. Do you know how long it took to erase that many minds?’

"What?" Selene asked, dumbfounded. She looked at Mahina. "What happened yesterday?"

Mahina’s eyes widened. ‘Nothing happened yesterday!’ she said quickly.
Callisto sighed. ‘Anyway, there were a lot of wanted posters to take down. Of her and some scrawny boy. I’m not even sure we got all of them.’ -
Selene raised an eyebrow. "Mahina, we'll discuss this later." She said before turning back to Callisto. "Well, you're not taking her away." She said matter-of-factly.
