Mahina leaned her head on his shoulder. ‘Do you know anybody?’

"A couple people." Ernie nodded. Most of them he wasn't exactly best friends with.

‘Anybody cool? Or some girl I need to be worried about?’

Ernest chuckled. "Haven't seen any cool people. And it's been years. All the girls have forgotten I exist. Besides, you're much better than them."

Mahina blushed and smiled, seemingly satisfied with that answer. ‘So you’ve been on your own all these years?’

Ernie nodded. "Yeah, I suppose so."

‘That’s horrible.’

Ernest wanted to downplay it with something, or say something else, but all he could do was nod. "Yeah, I guess."

Mahina squeezed his hand. ‘You’ve got me now, Frog Boy.’

Ernie blushed, not arguing about the nickname this time. "Thank heaven for that." He smiled

Mahina grinned.

Ernest ruffled her hair, chuckling. -

Mahina rolled her eyes. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. -
Ernie blushed more, grinning. He didn't want to leave her for a long, long time.
