After a bit Ernest reluctantly pulled away, grinning.

Mahina smiled.

"Was that the reward?" Ernie asked with a shy smile. Seemed like a pretty great reward to him.

'Yeah,' Mahina said, blushing.

"Yes!" Ernest cheered. "Great reward." He grinned.

Mahina blushed harder. 'Is it?'

Ernie nodded. "Very good reward."

'I'll make sure to give you it more often, then,' Mahina murmured.

Ernest blushed. "I-that-great." He stammered.

Mahina smiled. She leaned her head on his shoulder.

Ernie smiled back. He looked at the sky. It was just barely beginning to set.

'Which village are you from, again?'

Ernest grimaced, a bit embarrassed. "I-uh... I kind of bounce around village to village." And by that, I mean none of them.

Mahina raised an eyebrow. 'I mean, before your father kicked you out.'
