"Oh, right." Ernie chuckled. He blamed his scatterbrainedness on the kiss. "The one closest to the lake." He didn't like that village much. Mostly because of his dad.

'Right.'

"I can lead you there if you want." Ernest shrugged.

'How long does it take to get there?'

Ernie thought for a minute. "Not too long. 15-20 minutes."

'Can you show me?' Mahina asked softly. 'Unless you don't want to.'

Ernest hesitated. He didn't want to say no, and who knew, maybe the town got better since the last time he visited. "Sure. But if I say we're leaving, we're leaving fast, alright?"

Mahina nodded. 'OK.'

Ernie smiled. "Alright, come on then." He walked forward, to a fork in the path that'd show where to walk if he wanted to go to his old village.

Mahima followed.

Ernest checked the fork in the path before turning to the path on the right.

Mahina followed next to him.

Ernie squeezed her hand, smiling.
