They both got to the fountain after a bit. Ernie was right, it wasn't nearly as crowded as it would've been earlier in the evening.

Mahina looked at the fountain. It wasn’t very impressive, but she had seen a lot of fountains.

Ernie was perfectly aware it wasn't a super cool fountain, but he was more interested in all the new shops that popped up.

Mahina followed his gaze.

Ernest looked at her after a moment. "Like the town so far?"

‘Yeah, it’s cool.’

Ernie smiled. "Glad you like it." He turned his attention back to the shops after a bit.

‘Where did you grow up here?’

Ernest looked around to see the house. "There." It was a small brick house somewhat hidden by a shop by the corner.

‘Do you think your dad still lives there?’

"I don't know." If he did, Ernie didn't want to see him. Ernest thought he could see a group of people walk towards the fountain from the distance, but didn't mention it. He kept it on his radar though.

‘Do you want to see him?’

Ernest shook his head. "Not a chance." He said quickly. The people got closer, and now he was getting worried. He thought he could recognize the uniform a couple of them were wearing. He frowned slightly.

Mahina noticed his expression. ‘What’s wrong?’
