‘Maybe… maybe we should sit away from him,’ he said quietly. ‘Since I don’t have to do what he says anymore.’

Jayd nodded. "Of course." He looked to find a table that wasn't occupied by Astrid and his family or the members of the board before finding a table. He walked over to an empty table, pulling a chair for Chester before sitting down.

Chester smiled and sat down in the chair Jayden had pulled for him. Maeve sat next to him.

Jayden smiled back at the two of them.

Chester leaned into him, sighing softly.

Jayd looked at him. "What's up?" He asked, playing with his hair.

Chester let him. ‘Just… tired,’ he mumbled. ‘It’s been a hell of a day.’

Jayden nodded. "I get it." He nodded, kissing the top of his head.

Chester smiled weakly, snuggling closer to him.

Jayd wrapped his arm around him. holding him close.

Chester buried his face in his shirt, sighing deeply as he breathed in Jayden’s scent. ‘I love you.’

Jayd blushed. "You've mentioned it a few times. I love you too."

Chester smiled, kissing his shoulder.

Jayden blushed.
"The shoulder?" Maeve said, trying and failing to raise her eyebrows.
(Aaaand I'm gonna go for the night, bye!) -
Chester smiled, nuzzling into him. ‘It’s the only place I can reach without standing in my tiptoes,’ he mumbled.
