Chester didn’t know what he hated most, that Jayden hadn’t believed him or that it was true. He sighed. ‘Does he know what’s happening?’

"He has some theories, but not really."

Chester nodded, fiddling with his hands. ‘C-Can you stay with me a bit?’

Jayden nodded. "Yeah." He said quietly, sitting on the foot of the bed.

Chester sat up and leaned his head on Jayden’s shoulder, holding onto his arm.

Jayd let him. He looked at him and noticed his eyes were red from crying. He felt like a horrible person for making him cry that much.

Chester sighed deeply, nuzzling into him. ‘I can’t lose you.’

Jayden didn't respond to that for a moment. "God, I'm so, so sorry." He said after a bit, leaning into him slightly.

Chester frowned. ‘You did nothing wrong.’

"I still feel bad." Jayden mumbled.

Chester kissed his cheek. ‘Don’t. Please,’ he mumbled, pulling himself close.

Jayd let him. "But it's my fault you feel this s---ty." He mumbled.

Chester shook his head, looking up at him. ‘It’s not anyone’s fault. If it had to be someone’s, it’d be Astrid’s or my own.’

Jayden shook his head. "I'm still sorry."
