Maeve wrapped her arms around herself. ‘I don’t know,’ she said quietly.

Jayden wrapped her in a hug. "Ok." He said in an equal tone. "We'll figure it out."

Maeve hugged him back. ‘What if we don’t?’

Jayd hesitated before answering. "We will. We'll figure something out, promise."

Maeve sighed, pulling away.

"Sorry you got dragged into all this." Jayden said after a bit.

Maeve shook her head. ‘It’s fine. He’s my brother, after all.’

Jayd gave a small nod. "Fair enough." He didn't know what else to say.

Maeve sighed. ‘Do you mind if I stay here a couple nights?’

Jayden nodded again. "Yeah, no problem."

Maeve smiled weakly. ‘Thanks.’ She disappeared, probably to get her stuff.

Jayd waited for her to come back, staring at the wall. The hallways could really use a different shade of paint now that he thought about it- funny how you don't think about these things until you're staring at it.

‘Jayden?’ Chester called from his room, voice shaky. ‘Jayden?’

Jayden heard him, opening the door. "Yeah?" He asked softly.

Chester looked up at him. He’d transformed into a half rabbit. ‘What did Oliver say?’
