Oliver nodded again before leaving.
"What're the results?" Jayden asked immediately. -
Oliver sighed. ‘He’s telling the truth,’ he said, shutting the door behind him. ‘And he wanted me to tell you he’s sorry.’

Jayd knew he was sorry. "But, how could he just forget it?" He asked.

Oliver shrugged. ‘I don’t know. I’ll have to do some research, but.. I have a couple hunches.’

"Like?" Jayden asked curiously. Maeve was silent this whole time, which wasn't like her at all.

Oliver sighed. ‘Perhaps… his shapeshifting problem has gotten worse.’

"How would his shape-shifting affect him?" Jayden asked before stopping himself. "Sorry, I'm asking a lot of questions.
"He's a doctor, it's practically his job to answer a lot of questions." Maeve shrugged. "Along with curing people, but like, minor things." -
Oliver sighed. ‘This rarely happens. We know practically nothing about his condition. It could be that because he’s part animal, and as his condition grows worse… he starts to think like an animal. Phoenixes attack their prey, and anything that comes between it and its nest. In this case, his pocket watch.’

Jayd listened intently. "Huh..." He said after a bit, thinking. "I suppose. But then, how are we supposed to help him?"

Oliver shook his head. ‘I don’t know. The other possibility is that 4 years of talking to the dead has finally gotten to him. But there’s no way to be sure until it’s too late.’

Jayden hated the idea of waiting until it was too late, and from the looks of it, so did Maeve. "Ok." He said after a moment. "Thank you."

Oliver nodded, rubbing his arm. ‘I’ll do my best to look for symptoms and a more effective antidote. Come get me if you need anything, alright?’

Jayd nodded. "Will do." He gave a weak smile.

Oliver nodded, smiling softly. ‘See you, Jayden,’ he said. Maeve grabbed his shoulder and they both disappeared, then after a moment Maeve reappeared in front of Jayden.

Jayden looked at her. "So what are we going to do about Chester?" He asked quietly.
