"I know." Jayden didn't say anything for his apology. He didn't want to say it was fine or that he forgave him, because it wasn't... And he didn't, even though he wanted to so, so badly. "I love you too."

Chester smiled weakly, fiddling with the handle of his suitcase. ‘I’ll see you later, then?’

"Yeah. I-I'll see you later." Jayd let his hand go as he left the room.

Chester set his suitcase on the ground, shutting the door behind him. He collapsed onto his bed, holding the sweater he’d kept to his chest, and begun crying. ‘God, I’m such a f---ing bad person,’ he mumbled, curling up.

Jayden shut the door behind him before sitting down next to it, his knees to his chest. He covered his head in his hands and started crying too.

Maeve appeared in front of Jayden. She looked around and spotted him on the ground. ‘Jayden? What’s wrong? Are you okay?’

Jayd wiped his eyes quickly, looking up at her. "Me... Me and Chester got in a sort of fight." He said quietly. It was close enough- he didn't want to say too much and worry her too much.

Maeve frowned, sitting next to him. ‘What happened?’

Jayden sighed before explaining it to her. "Astrid stole his pocket watch and broke it, so he tried to attack him. I stopped him, and he yelled at me and threatened me. And now he moved rooms because I'm scared of him, and he feels bad, and claims he doesn't even remember doing any of it." Jayd looked down at the ground.

Maeve’s face was one of pure shock, her mouth slightly open. ‘He did WHAT?!’ she shouted, standing up.

Jayden just gave a small nod. "Yup."

Maeve scowled and disappeared, appearing in Chester’s room. ‘Chester!’
Chester flinched and looked up at her, quickly wiping his tears. ‘Maeve? What are you-‘
‘Don’t you “Maeve” me! You’ve got some serious explaining to do!’ -
Jayd could hear her yelling through the wall. He winced.

‘Maeve, what are you talking about?!’ Chester exclaimed, sitting up.
‘Jayden’s literally crying in his room because you attacked his brother and threatened him! Sure, his brother’s a major jerk, but still!’ Maeve yelled. ‘And now you deny the whole f---ing thing!’ -
Jayden heard her yelling at him, his hand on the doorknob so he could open the door and stop her if he needed to.
