Chester laughed. ‘Can I at least have my gloves?’

Jayden walked in the closet and looked through the clothes before tossing him the gloves.

Chester caught them. ‘Thanks for being so generous,’ he said with a laugh, tucking the letter into his coat. He pulled on the gloves.

“No problem.” Jayden chuckled.

Chester wrapped an arm around him and kissed the side of his head. ‘Thanks. For, y’know, comforting me.’

Jayden held him. “You’re very welcome.”

Chester held him close. ‘I love you.’ His wings ruffled under the coat.

Jayden noticed the wings. “I love you too.”

Chester smiled. He took off the coat.

Jayden walked into the hall.

Chester followed, putting the coat over his shoulders. It was better than crumpling his wings.

Jayden noticed, chuckling.

Chester rolled his eyes. ‘Oh, shush.’

“I can cut holes in the jacket so the wings can fit, if you want.”

‘It’s your coat. Not happening.’
