‘What do you think would happen if Astrid did tell everyone how I’m a… y’know…’

Jayden thought for a bit, frowning. “Well, he doesn’t have much proof other than you ‘being obvious about it’ which isn’t proof. You might have to go to court over it though, if it gets really bad…”

Chester nodded, thinking about that for a moment. ‘Witnesses would be called in. The fine for lying in court is a year jail in my kingdom…’ he murmured, then his face paled. ‘That can’t happen, Jayden. My servants, Maeve, you… you’d have to tell the truth.’

Jayd sighed. “What about accidental murder? What’s the consequence for that?” He asked quietly. He hated the idea of lying in court, but he didn’t want Chester to wind up in jail either. And Maeve… he knew he wouldn’t let Maeve go to jail for lying.

‘Accidental…’ Chester murmured, rubbing his temples, trying to remember. ‘It depends. How many people were, y’know, how it happened… The minimum for unaliving one person maybe a minimum of one year and a half…’

Jayden frowned. “Maybe you’d get a shorter sentence if you pled guilty?” He asked quietly. -
(Same, but I’ve decided Chester can’t say murder because ✨trauma✨)
Chester buried his face in his shirt. ‘That would only shorten it by a few months.’ -
(Ooooo that’s fair actually🤩 I just assumed you didn’t want to get banned or something)
“It’s better than nothing.” Jayden kissed his head. “Let’s just drop it, ok?” -
(Lmfao fair enough. But we make characters suffer in this household)
Chester nodded. ‘O-Ok…’
He couldn’t help continuing to think about it, though, and the minimum sentence he figured he’d get would be 2 and a half years. 6 at the most.
He took a few deep breaths, trying to calm down. That won’t happen. It couldn’t. -

Jayden looked up at him. “Hey, it’s ok.” He said quietly, wrapping him in his arms. -

Chester whimpered, letting him. ‘I can’t lose you.’ -
