“Yes. I don’t want my books ruined, understand?”

‘E-Er, yeah, ok,’ Chester said, now visibly bewildered. He picked up his book pile off the ground. ‘If that’s all…’

Miss Kalt nodded. “That’s all.” She chuckled at how stunned Chester was.

Chester turned around and walked away, as fast as he could with a pile of big fat books. He walked behind the last shelf to the armchair.
‘Holy s---,’ he mumbled, setting the books on the coffee table. -
Meanwhile, Jayden was opening Chester’s luggage to switch out his suits with his own outfits.

Chester sat down and opened up his first book. Human laws were kind of fcked up. He didn’t recommend it.

Jayd put his suits in his own closet, in an empty shelf so they didn’t get mixed up before grabbing some of his oversized sweaters and putting them in.

After a while, his eyes grew heavy and unfocused the way they do when you read too long. He tried using his glasses but he still found it hard to focus his eyes on the page. He figured that was enough for today and packed up, leaving the pile under the coffee table and taking the book he was reading back to Jayden’s room. It was a plus he hadn’t bumped into any of Jayden’s annoying relatives yet.

By the time Chester was done reading, Jayden was done with his prank and ready to walk over to the library to meet up with him.

Chester walked down the hall. He noticed Astrid sneaking around the hall, which he found strange because it was his own castle, but ignored him and knocked on Jayden’s door.

“Come in.” Jayden opened the door, smiling.

Chester smiled and cautiously walked in the room. He looked around. ‘I was expecting confetti or something to shoot at me from all directions, to be honest,’ he said with a nervous laugh.

“Nah, I’m saving that for tomorrow.” Jayden chuckled.

Chester laughed. He set his book on top of his bag. ‘Y’know Miss Kalt, or whatever her name is?’

Jayden nodded. “Yeah.” He sat on his bed.
