Astrid looked taken aback for a moment before hiding it with a smug smile. "Fine." He said after a moment, tossing it carelessly to him.

Chester reached up and caught it, relief evident in his posture. He sighed closed his fingers around it, trying to ignore Astrid’s smug smile.

Jayd glared at Astrid. "Leave him alone."

Astrid smirked and held his hands up in mock surrender. ‘Poor cottontail. So sensitive,’ he said, grinning.
Chester ignored him, or tried to, returning to his food. -
Jayden sighed, knowing there was no point in getting in another fight with him. He just kept eating.

Astrid just chuckled and continued eating as well.

Jayd tried not to yell at him, eating his food.

Chester ate, occasionally resting his hand on his pocket, where he’d tucked the pocket watch.

Jayden looked up at Chester occasionally. He ate his food quickly.

Chester did too.

Jayd finished. "Want to go to my room?"

Chester quickly finished off his last bite and nodded.

Jayden stood up.
"See you soon, cottontail." Astrid said in one of those singing tones when you're teasing someone. Jayd glared. -
Chester grabbed Jayden’s hand as he stood up. ‘I hope not,’ he mumbled, turning away.

Jayd pulled him away from the dining room and his family. "I'm sorry." He mumbled.
