Caden gritted his teeth, leading the way to the board room. He was angered into silence for a moment, before he snapped, ‘Don’t think that incident with your little brat and older brother won’t get out to the public. Astrid is right not to let that slide.’
-
Jayden froze. “How on earth did you…” His eyes narrowed. “Were you watching us?!”
-
Caden scoffed. ‘Hell no, I wouldn’t be caught dead peering into your disgusting room. Half the castle heard your shouting!’
-
Jayd glared. “Astrid’s the one that wouldn’t leave my room. It’s his fault.” He said stubbornly, walking into the board room.
-
Caden rolled his eyes, and when they got to the room, he stopped outside. ‘Mess up like that again, Celeste, and we won’t be so lenient. Get inside.’
-
“What’ll you do?” Jayden snapped, trying to hide any sort of fear out of his voice.
(Dammit, gtg, hopefully I’ll be back!) -
(Alg, cya!)
‘That’s none of your concern for now,’ Caden said menacingly, opening the door. -
Jayd looked up at him, breath quickening slightly. Oh, it’s certainly of my concern. He kept his mouth shut.
-
Inside were the members of the board, sitting at a king table. There were about 10 of them, including Caden.
-
Jayden sat down on the chair closest to him. “What’s this about?”
-
A number of newspapers were set on the table, including the one outing Chester and Jayden, the one about Chester cheating, etc.
Caden sat down. ‘Let’s begin, shall we?’ he said, ignoring Jayden. -
Jayd sighed, but didn’t say anything. It wasn’t like this was the first time Caden did this, anyways. He saw the newspapers and his eyes widened.
-
One of the board members piped up. ‘He never consulted with us before signing the treaty,’ she said.
‘Or before he made his and Jackson’s relationship public,’ another pointed out.
‘Why aren’t we taking action?’ -
“You guys saw the treaty, didn’t you?” Jayden asked quietly.
“Well yes, but that was before you both changed parts of it-“
“-Why should my board of directors care that the public know if I’m dating someone?” -
‘It affects how the public sees you. If he was a responsible, well-known duchess, maybe, but he’s the goddamn king of the North!’ someone exclaimed.
