Jayd stiffened for a bit before slowly giving Chester a small hug back, half of his mind going nuts since it was still scared of Chester. "Yup." He murmured back.

Chester remembered Jayden's fear of him. He quickly pulled away. 'Sorry,' he said.

"N-no, I-it's fine." Jayden stammered. He figured he could use a hug anyways, even if half of his mind would flip out because of it.

Chester usually liked it when he stuttered. It was adorable. But now Jayden was terrified of him. 'I-I should go,' he mumbled.

Jayd looked at the floor. Dammit, he messed up. "No, I-I'm sorry, please, don't go." He said quickly.

Chester shook his head. 'No, I really should go,' he said.

Jayden frowned. "Fine, if you want to." He mumbled after a moment, mad at himself.

Chester sighed. He kissed the side of Jayden's head. 'I love you. But I think you need some time to think about how you feel about me. I don't want you to be scared.' He nearly choked up, but kept himself contained.

Jayden sighed. The worst part was, he knew Chester was right. "Ok." He whispered.

Chester hugged him again, savoring their togetherness, before leaving and shutting the door behind him. He hoped it wasn't the last time his arms would be around Jayden.

Jayd sat down on the floor, upset that he made Chester feel bad. He covered his face with his hands.

Chester sat down against the wall outside Jayden's room. He buried his face in his hands.

Neo was in the hall, and noticed Chester. He frowned, but figured it wasn't his place to ask what happened.

Chester did his best not to cry. He didn't think he'd be able to walk into the garden or his own room without breaking down.

Jayd was curled up into a ball on the floor, arms crossed around his legs. He hated himself for making Chester leave.
