Jayden led him out of the room.

Chester followed him. ‘Jayden?’

"Yes?"

‘Astrid was in my dream,’ Chester mumbled. ‘I’m scared he did something really bad to you.’

Jayden frowned, turning to look Chester in the eye. "He didn't do anything bad enough for you to be this worried about it." He promised. "Okay?"

‘Are you sure? C-Can you tell me what he did, then?’

Jayden sighed. "I was refusing to go along with a lot- like, a LOT- of stuff the board was suggesting, and it got to the point where Astrid had to step in to stop anyone from going overboard. He threatened that if I refused to go along with what Caden says, he'd step in again. Nothing as serious as what you're thinking, love."

Chester nodded, looking down. ‘Okay,’ he said quietly. ‘I’m sorry that happened.’

"It's fine, it's not your fault."

Chester walked closer to him.

Jayden pulled him closer. "I'm sorry I worried you so much."

‘It’s okay. You were just being ominous about it,’ Chester said with a weak smile.

"I know." Jayden sighed, pulling him closer and kissing his nose.

Chester leaned into his touch.

Jayden smiled. They got to the dining room and he opened the door for Chester.
