Jayden let him, wrapping an arm around him. "G'night, love." He grinned.

'G'night, darling,' Chester murmured, wrapping an arm around his torso and snuggling closer.

Jayden closed his eyes, smiling.

Chester did the same, holding onto him.

Jayd eventually fell into a light sleep.

Chester did the same. The next morning, he woke up clinging to Jayden. The monsters might go away if Jayden was close.

Jayden woke up to his boyfriend holding onto him tightly, like he'd die if he didn't. "Chester?" He asked quietly. "It's okay, you can let go."

Chester whimpered, shaking his head. If anything, he clung to him tighter. He was pretty convinced that he would die if he let go.

Jayden winced when his grip got tighter. "Nobody's going to hurt you." He said softly. "You're safe."

Chester sniffled, relaxing his grip slightly. 'A-Are you sure?'

"I wouldn't tell you if I wasn't sure." Jayden kissed the top of his head.

Chester relaxed a little more, starting to sob into Jayden's chest.

Jayden held him close. "I've got you." He said, trying to comfort him, but not sure how. He ended up saying a very stupid thing that comforts literally nobody and he ended up regretting it immediately. "It's okay."

Chester shook his head, hugging him tightly.

Jayd sighed. "I know. It's not okay." He paused. "But I've got you. I'll make sure nothing hurts you."
