"What will make you feel better?" Jayden asked quietly.

‘I don’t know,’ Chester mumbled.

Chester pulled away and wiped his eyes. ‘Sorry.’

"Don't be sorry." Jayden smiled gently. "I'm not upset."

Chester glanced at him and snuggled back into him. ‘I love you.’

Jayden held him close. "I love you too." He chuckled.

Chester gave a weak smile.

Jayden smiled back. Their food came.

Chester started eating.

Chester stayed quiet.

Jayden leaned his head on Chester's shoulder.
