(kk cool. Do you want to start, or should I?)
-
(Slay, I can start)
Oliver sent Jayden a letter after a few weeks. Chester had stopped writing to Jayden for a full week.
Dear King Jayden,
I hope you have been well.
Chester is not in the best place right now. He hasn’t been coping well, and his dreams and such have gotten worse. Much worse. If you can, it might be helpful to him if you come to the castle. You’re his main coping tool. If this is not possible, please write back as soon as possible.
From Oliver -
Jayden got the letter and wrote back.
Dear Oliver,
I'm on my way. I should be there before this even sends.
From Jayden
He got packed and went in a carriage to go to the castle almost immediately. He got there the next morning. -
Maeve was outside, waiting for Jayden. When the carriage arrived, she ran forward and opened the door before a servant could even reach them. ‘Jayde
-
Jayden!’*
-
Jayden got out of the carriage. One of the servants grabbed the luggage. "I'll take this to your guest room."
Jayden nodded, turning his attention to Maeve. "Where's Chester?" -
‘I’ll show you,’ Maeve said, grabbing his shoulder. They appeared in a room painted white, with ten hospital beds along the wall, unoccupied except for one, and a bunch of shelves. Chester was in one of his beds. He wore a blindfold over his eyes and was curled up, blanket over him. Oliver was sitting next to him on a chair, gently rubbing the back of his hand.
-
Jayden kneeled down next to him, looking up at Oliver. "I'm here. What do you want me to do?" He asked softly.
-
Oliver looked at him. Chester appeared to be asleep. ‘Stay here until he wakes up,’ Oliver said, standing up so Jayden could sit down. ‘He refuses to take any medication or let me help him. He keeps waking up with panic attacks, just screaming and crying,’ he spoke, looking down at Chester sadly. Maeve sat on the closest bed to Chester.
-
Jayden didn't move to sit down, staying by Chester's side. "Got it." He mumbled.
-
Oliver grabbed a syringe and filled it with medicine. He grabbed a glass of water and filled it up at a tap. Chester stirred, gripping the blankets tightly. Oliver put a needle into his arm, and his grip relaxed. ‘To make him calmer,’ Oliver said. He waited a moment before pulling out the needle and covering it with a tissue, then pulling off the blindfold. Chester groaned. ‘Tell me when you’re going to do that,’ he muttered.
-
"Sorry."
Jayden smiled softly. "Hey, love." He murmured. -
Chester looked up. His face went from cranky to shocked to happy. He completely forgot about any dream he’d had. ‘J-Jayden?’
-
Jayd beamed. "It's me. I came as soon as I heard you weren't doing great." He grabbed Chester's hand.
-
Chester squeezed his hands, tracing it with both of his. ‘Thank you,’ he mumbled.
