Chester huffed, nibbling his chocolate. 'You're mean.'

"Only when it comes to taking care of you, love."

'Hmph,' Chester mumbled. He paused for a moment before growing bunny ears, but remaining human. He looked in the mirror, grinned, then grew phoenix wings, then fox ears and a tail. 'Heh, I can be half-animal too now!'

Jayden raised an eyebrow. "Didn't we just do surgery to stop that?"

'... Yeah. But look, I can control it now!' Chester put down his chocolate and shuffled off the bed, morphing into a half cat, then a full golden retriever, a half cow, then back into a human. 'See!'

Jayd nodded, chuckling. "Yeah, I see. So long as you don't yell at me whenever you're a phoenix again, it's pretty cool."

Chester flushed in embarrassment. 'Sorry about that,' he said quietly, settling back next to him and nibbling his chocolate.

Jayden wanted to kick himself for making Chester upset again. "No, it's fine, you're not going to do it again, so I'm not worried."

'Okay,' Chester said, shuffling next to him. 'Can I snuggle you now?'

Jayden made sure he finished his chocolate bar. "Yup." He snuggled back into Chester.

Chester nibbled the rest of the chocolate bar and smile, snuggling against him.

Jayd kissed his forehead. "I love you."

'Love you too~'

Jayden beamed.

Chester smiled. He morphed into a fox again.
