"I don't want you to be scared all the time." Jayden mumbled, leaning into Chester. "You shouldn't have to get used to it."

'It's the best option. It's too late to go back now, anyway.'

Jayd nodded with a sigh. "Yeah."

Chester gave a weak smile.

Jayden gave a small smile back. "Thank you for doing that. I love you."

'Love you too. I'd do anything for you.'

"I know you would. According to Cleverly, you'd let me control you and take your whole kingdom." He could hear the joke fall flat as he said it. It sounded much better in his head. "Which I would never."

Chester gave a weak smile, resting his head on Jayden's chest. 'Eh, I probably would if you were persuasive enough,' he said in a joking tone, but it was more true than he would've liked.

Jayd chuckled, not realizing how true it was. "I wouldn't even dream of it. The goal is for you to kiss me more, not to give me more land."

Chester laughed. ‘Well, if you ask nicely, maybe I will,’ he teased.

Jayden beamed. "Well in that case, please?"

Chester, with no hesitation, kissed him.

Jayd blushed, closing his eyes and kissing him back.

Chester closed his eyes, cupping his cheek in his hand.

Jayden's arm gently touched the back of Chester's neck, leaning closer.
